A methodology that empowers you to balance nourishment (across food, movement, mental, spiritual, community) with “toxin-less” living. The guidance to support your bodies natural ability to heal with tools that support your body, mind and soul. The Cleaner Way ultimately shows you how to balance life, nourish well, reduce your toxic load and allow you to thrive!
At the heart of The Cleaner Way lies a commitment to reducing your toxic load. This involves not only embracing practices that promote mental clarity and emotional balance, but reducing your exposure to toxic chemicals. Toxins have increased 1000 fold in our environment over the last 40 years. They are impossible to avoid completely, but we can and should lower our exposure, and here is why:
Although our body is built to remove toxins, using the immune system, lymphatic system and through detoxification in the liver, the amount of exposure each day is to much for our liver to handle, a term called “toxic load”. When our liver is overloaded, toxins then get stored in our fat cells and organs, later leading to oxidation, inflammation and disease. So, simply said, to stay health and resist disease, we must optimize our detoxification every day, and the first step is to reduce your exposure, or a term I call “toxin-less” living.
With The Cleaner Way, I start by helping your recognize all your toxic exposures throughout the day, most clients are surprised to see that they are exposed to hundreds of touch points each day. Think about when you wake up, did you sleep on organic sheets, mattress and pillows? If not, those are inhalation exposures, cotton is the most sprayed crop with glysophate, a harmful pesticide known to cause cancer. Bamboo uses harsh chemicals to break down the hard fibers to create soft bedding. Your mattress, if not organic or natural, has been sprayed with fire retardants which include heavy metals and carcinogens. Did you wear organic underwear and pajamas? If not, that’s an absorption exposure, expecially synthetic fabrics like spandex, lycra and polyester include plastics and forever chemicals in the fabric. Next, do you use organic coffee, filtered water and a stainless steel or glass percolator or french press? If not, those are ingestion exposures. When coffee is grown, in damp climates, it molds, unless the coffee is organic and grown with temperature and moisture control, you’re drinking a cup of mold. The water, if not properly filtered includes fluoride and chlorine (yes the same chlorine used in pools to kill bacteria), fluoride has been proven to be a neuro-toxin, affecting your brain. If you’re using a Keurig, when those plastic cups that hold he coffee grounds get hot as the water passes through that they can release up to 15,000 particles of microplastics. And all plasstics are considered Forever Chemicals and Obsegens, meaning, they stay in your system forever, autopsies have discovered microplastics in the brain, in reproductive organs, and most other ograns. And obsegens, are a leading reason why you might not be able to lose weight despite your most heathy efforts, they are forever chemicals, PFAs, that get stored in your fat cells and are impossible to detox. So, within 10 minutes of waking you can already see the toxic touch points and understand how that can accumulate throughout the day.
So, in this example alone, I would help you mitigate or plan for safer swaps, such as investment in 100% organic bedding, with a long term goal of investing in an organic mattress. Ensuring your sleep wear is organic, as you spend the most amount of time, sleeping in a closed room/home. Air purification for the room to remove toxins, and opening windows immediately upon waking. Switching to a french press or percolator or finding a stainless steel K-cup holder that you can fill yourself. And investing in a good quality water purifier. This will seem very overwhelming, but I customize a plan for you, that provides the simplest and free steps to take immediately, and how you can accomplish more over time.
By curating a lifestyle that emphasizes whole, nutrient-dense foods and conscious choices, you cultivate an environment in which vitality can flourish. You will feel and see the difference in a short amount of time, and with most things, once you know, it’s hard to not know and practice toxin-less living.
